Biografie Anna Widauer

The jazz singer and songwriter studied at the Tyrolean State Conservatory from 2010 to 2013. She continued her studies at the Basel Academy of Music with Lisette Spinnler, where she graduated with distinction in 2016. Recipient of the BTV Youth Jazz Prize in 2014, she interprets her own compositions as well as jazz standards and has become a fixture in the free improvisation scene in Austria.

Anna Widauer’s love for literature becomes clear in the lyrics she writes and/or sings herself – in German, English and the Tyrolean dialect. Whether in archaic screaming duets, puerile arguments or subtle songs about the dark side of human existence: Anna sings – passionately, unmelodramatic and with childlike tenderness.
